One of the flagship welfare schemes in Madhya Pradesh is Ladli Behna Yojana, which is designed to provide financial help to women. The scheme was first introduced by the old government and still persists with some modifications by the new administration. Initially, the amount paid monthly under this scheme was 1000 rupees. This was increased to 1250 rupees and stayed there months long. Nevertheless, women organizations and citizens kept pleading to increase their number claiming that over the years, essential commodities such as food, education and healthcare have become costly due to inflation.

The month is the one where the monthly amount is increased to 1500 rupees. This rise was passed in the cabinet on November 10, under the presidency of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. The government also ensured that the budget of the Ladli Behna scheme was large to accommodate the increase. Thus, not only during this month but throughout the year, all Ladli Behna will get 1500 rupees a month as financial aid.

The fact that money transfer is made transparent and digital is one of the reasons that have made Ladli Behna Yojana continue to be a success. No middle man, no harassment and no paper work in the collector office. Rather, money is directly deposited into the bank accounts of all the beneficiaries on a specific day each month with an electronic record.

This was repeated in November 12, with a larger amount. Mohan Yadav released the money to nearly 1.26 crore women when he pressed a button in a state level event in Seoni. The joy of the women was evident and some of them started celebrating as soon as they got the message on their phones.

This scheme has offered hope and dignity to several women particularly those in rural, backward or poor families year after year. They spend the money on groceries, education of children, or medicine, and demonstrate how the governmental aid can really hit the life of ordinary people.

Who Qualifies To receive the Ladli Behna Yojana 30th Installment 1500 Rupees

The primary objective of the scheme is the support of women who are less economically strong and who reside in Madhya Pradesh state. To be eligible, a woman should be a state resident, she should be aged between 21 and 60 years of age and should be a member of a family whose annual earnings were below a stipulated limit normally indicated in the official guidelines.

Preference is accorded to women who are single, widowed, abandoned or of marginalized backgrounds. Aadhaar card, bank passbook, residence proof and a plain self-declaration form are some of the documents required.

New registration is always open in most of the districts and women fulfilling the specifications are supposed to register with the decent paperwork at the gram panchayat or urban center. The government has also vowed to include more deserving women on the scheme in the next few months.

Will the Name of The Scheme Change?

It has been speculated that the name of Ladli Behna Yojana can be changed into Devi Subhadra Kalyan Yojana. Reportedly, the new name announcement can be introduced in the near future, but no change has been made so far. Others think that it will still be centered on women empowerment though the name may be different.

Devi Subhadra is the culturally significant name in India, which indicates power and bravery. The government could opt to acknowledge this concept by changing the name of the scheme, but currently everything registered and paid off is that the name of the initial name.
