OTET 2026 Exam Date Out

OTET 2026: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, carries out an eligibility test called the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) annually as an evaluation of Odisha teacher eligibility to work in Classes I to VIII in the all government, private aided and private unaided schools in the state. Its date is projected to be on third week of May 2026 in that case, application forms will be published in March 2026 at https://www.bseodisha.ac.in/.

According to the notice published on 12th February 2026, Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2026 will be conducted in 3rd week May 2026 and the timetable of the actual exam will be published soon along with the official notice.

OTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Odisha TET is an eligibility test; however the candidates have to fill in some eligibility requirements in order to fill their OTET Application Form 2026. The OTET Exam does not have a particular age limit, but the minimum education qualification is necessary. The eligibility of the OTET 2026 of primary and upper primary teachers is discussed below.

Qualification to Paper-I (Primary Teacher in Classes I to V)

• Higher Secondary (or equivalent) and at least 50% marks and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
• Secondary (or equivalent) with not less than 45% marks and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) (as per the NCTE regulations).
• Higher Secondary (or equivalent) and at least 50 percent marks and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
• Higher Secondary (or equivalent) and 50 percent marks and Diploma in Education (Special Education) of 2 years.
• Graduation and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).

Paper-II (Upper Primary Teacher in Classes VI to VIII): Eligibility Criteria

• Graduation and 2 Years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
• 3-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) with graduation mark of at least 50% and 1-year.
• At least 45 percent marks and 1 year bachelor in education (B.Ed) as per the NCTE regulations.
• Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education ( B. El. Ed ).
• Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50 percent marks and 4-year B.A.Ed. /B.Sc.Ed.
• B.Ed. of not less than 50 percent marks and 1 year B.Ed. (Special Education).
• OTET 2026 Application Fee
• Only when the required application fee is submitted, the application form of the OTET will be submitted successfully. Application fees are required asforth by the applicant of the SC and ST category of Rs. 400/- and in case of the general category applicants application fee is required as Rs. 600/-. The method of payment shall also be online using HDFC payment gateway.

OTET 2026 Online Application Steps

The candidate will first be required to read the instructions, eligibility and applicability before going to get registered at the OTET-2026. Depending on their eligibility, candidates may appear on either paper I or paper II or both the papers. The procedure to apply online to OTET Exam has been provided step by step.

• Go to the official site of the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, Cuttack, i.e. www.bseodisha.ac.in.
• Home page tab in Examination >OTET Examination> Online Application odisha teacher eligibility test OTET- 2026 Link.
• Applicants are diverted to a different page. In case you have already registered, then go to the button of “Login: otherwise, to have a registration, go to New Registration.
• Upon clicking on New Registration the OTET-2026 page will be opened. Please feed in your name, password (that you are required to set), and Mobile No. e-mail ID, and then press the Submit tab. OTP will be sent to the registered email ID and no (you will have to fill in OTP).
• Send your application forms along with personal details, qualification, education and address.
• Click on the Payments and declaration tab and pay the application fee according to category and then click on Final submit tab.

OTET 2026 Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Pattern of exam in Paper 1 and Paper 2 is as follows.

• Paper 1 and 2 have 150 questions each.
• The examination will take 150 minutes.
• Every correct answer awards 1 mark.
• There will not be negative marking.
