Trump Expands Travel Ban to Over 30 Countries Worldwide, Full List Revealed

Trump Expands Travel Ban to Over 30 Countries Worldwide: As part of its ongoing immigration crackdown, the Donald Trump administration extended the travel ban to more than 30 nations following the arrest of an Afghan national suspected of shooting two National Guard soldiers over Thanksgiving weekend. President Donald Trump declared in June that travel to the United States would be restricted for inhabitants of seven other nations and prohibited for nationals of 12.

Many of the nations from which it was restricting travel have “widespread corruption, fraudulent or unreliable civil documents and criminal records,” according to the Trump administration’s announcement of the extended travel ban, making it challenging to vet their citizens for entry into the United States. Additionally, it stated that certain nations had a “general lack of stability and government control,” which made vetting challenging, high rates of overstaying visas, or refused to return persons that the United States wanted to deport.

US Travel Ban: The Latest Proclamation’s Contents

The original 12 high-risk nations, Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen, remain subject to complete prohibitions and entry limitations under the new proclamation.

Based on recent study, it imposes complete restrictions and entry prohibitions on five more countries: Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, South Sudan, Syria, and people with travel papers issued by the Palestinian Authority.

Laos and Sierra Leone, two nations that were previously subject to partial restrictions, are now subject to full restrictions and entrance limitations under the new order. Four of the seven initial high-risk nations, Burundi, Cuba, Togo, and Venezuela, remain subject to partial restrictions.
Due to Turkmenistan’s productive engagement with the United States, the new proclamation relaxes the country’s current ban on non-immigrant visas.

15 more nations, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Dominica, Gabon, The Gambia, Malawi, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Tonga, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, now have partial restrictions and access prohibitions.

Lawful permanent residents, current visa holders, certain visa categories like sports and diplomats, and people whose admission promotes U.S. national interests are also exempt from the proclamation. Additionally, while maintaining case-by-case waivers, the proclamation restricts large family-based immigrant visa carve-outs that contain proven fraud risks.
