The Nobel Prize Winners List 2025 recognizes outstanding people and institutions from around the world for their innovative contributions to the fields of physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, peace, and economics. Alfred Nobel, a Swedish inventor, created the Nobel Prize in 1901 to honor those who have made significant contributions to humanity. It is regarded as the most prestigious honor in the world.
A 24-karat gold-plated green medal, an official diploma, and a monetary prize of 11 million Swedish Kronor (about USD 1,035,000) are given to each Nobel laureate. The Nobel Prize 2025 announcements are set for October 6–October 13, 2025, with ceremonies in Stockholm and Oslo scheduled for December 10, 2025.
Physics Nobel Prize
The award was given to John Clark, Michel H. Devoret, and John M. Martinis for their groundbreaking discoveries of quantization of energy in an electric circuit and macroscopic quantum mechanical tunneling.
Through their electrical circuit tests, they created new avenues for technological advancement, such as quantum sensors, quantum computers, and quantum cryptography.
Chemistry Nobel Prize
Omar M. Yaghi, Richard Robson, and Susumu Kitagawa were awarded the prize for creating metal-organic frameworks. They produced molecular architectures that let gasses and other chemicals to flow through them.
These metal-organic frameworks can be utilized to store hazardous gasses, trap carbon dioxide, extract water from desert conditions, or catalyze chemical reactions.
Nobel Prize in Medicine or Physiology
Shimon Sakaguchi, Fred Ramsdell, and Mary E. Brunkow received awards for their research on peripheral immunological tolerance. To keep the human body from attacking itself, regulation is necessary.
Key discoveries on peripheral immune tolerance were identified by the three studies. In addition to preventing the body from fighting itself, this mechanism makes it possible to develop novel medications for the treatment of autoimmune illnesses and cancer.
Nobel Prize in Literature
The award was given to László Krasznahorkai for his outstanding body of work, which underlines his artistic power and includes apocalyptic fear. His writing frequently veers into the macabre while maintaining a clearly artistic viewpoint.
Nobel Peace Prize
The award was given to Maria Corina Machado because of her unwavering advocacy for the rights of Venezuelans who have suffered oppression and injustice under autocratic regimes.
In Honor of Alfred Nobel, the 2025 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences
Joel Mokyr, Philippe Aghion, and Peter Howitt received recognition for recognizing the conditions necessary for long-term growth via technical advancement. Their study clarifies how to adhere to economic principles that promote widespread development and help individuals escape poverty.
